2026 Affinity System Requirements v3.2

The all-new Affinity by Canva (v3.0) was launched on October 30th, 2025. It combines all of the functionality of the three Affinity apps into one unified interface. For this reason, we expect that Affinity system requirements for v3 (including the latest release in 2026, Affinity 3.2) will be higher than those specs needed for Affinity v2 apps. In this article, we’re going to look at what the required and ideal system specifications are for the all-new Affinity app.

Affinity (Studio) System Requirements

Surprisingly, the system specifications for Affinity 3.2 do not change all that much from V2 app requirements. The minimum hardware required is rather nominal with just 8GB of RAM being recommended and 2.8GB of available hard drive space required for macOS and 1GB required for Windows.

Here are the Hardware and Software requirements for Mac and Windows computers.

Affinity works on Mac computers with Intel or Apple silicon processors and on Windows computers with Intel, AMD or ARM64 processors. Specifically, Snapdragon X Elite powered Windows devices.

macOS

Hardware:

  • Mac Pro, iMac, iMac Pro, MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac mini
  • Mac with Apple M Series chip or Intel processor
  • 8GB RAM recommended
  • Up to 2.8GB of available hard drive space; more during installation
  • 1280×768 display size or larger

Operating System:

macOS Catalina 10.15 or later

Windows

Hardware:

  • Windows-based PC (64-bit) with mouse or equivalent input device
  • Intel, AMD or ARM64* processor
  • Hardware GPU acceleration**
  • DirectX 10-compatible graphics cards and above
  • 8GB RAM recommended
  • 1GB of available hard drive space; more during installation
  • 1280×768 display size or larger

Operating System:

  • Windows 10® May 2020 Update (2004, 20H1, build 19041) or later
  • Windows 11®

Machine Learning Requirements

Affinity Machine Learning models are available to be downloaded and used locally on your computer, but for that, certain specific hardware and software is mandatory. Here are the specs for that.

  • For macOS: Apple silicon devices running macOS Ventura 13 or later
  • For Windows: Windows x64 and ARM64 hardware running Windows 10 or 11.

Our Recommended Specs

While Affinity will work on the hardware mentioned above, it may not work optimally, or be efficient. This means that it’s not an efficient use of your time.

To work quickly and efficiently, you would need more RAM, a faster multi-threaded processor, and a fast SSD at the very least.

Here are specifications that give you a broad idea of what image processing workstation would have. Anything more than this specification is welcome, but as working professionals, we would consider this as a minimum spec.

ComponentSpecification
ProcessorIntel Core 5 (Core i5) or better processor
AMD Ryzen 5 processor or better
Apple M2 processor or better
RAM (Memory)24GB, or more for editing larger files and projects
Storage (SSD)Fast internal SSD for application start and scratch disk, fast file storage for long term work and archival
GPUNVIDIA RTX 3060 or better
Apple M3 Pro or better

Affinity v1 & v2 Specs

In the past we have provided suggested system specifications for Affinity V1 and Affinity V2 applications. Some of those recommendations remain valid since the specifications do not seem to have changed for Affinity V3.
