It Has Got to Connect!

Photographs have an unnatural power over people.

At first glance, they are slices of time that have been frozen forever to be recollected upon command. However, the reality is quite different. The images are never quite a perfect recollection of time. They allow for interpretation. They allow for art, and they allow the photographer and artist to mold this interpretation to a great extent.

Photographs are images created by a person’s decision to capture the image – from their point of view, taking reality and amending it according to their wish.

When you take a photograph, remember this… The photographer is all powerful. How your subject is interpreted is based on how you take the photograph. The lighting, the background, the colours, they are all dependent on you and you alone…

How you choose to connect with your audience is a choice that you must make, and you must follow that path until your goal is achieved.
